E371 has been at Maldon for a number of decades, but that doesn't mean she has been in the one spot for a long period. Indeed her current location in the dock road has only been her home since 2022, when she was removed from a plinth between the turntable and the platform.

At the time, the Young Volunteers Group took her in to the workshop where she was stripped of her blue paint and repainted in to a traditional black.

Once painted, she was shunted in to the platform road, by Y133

She was then left solo in the platform for the opportunity to take photographs of this good-looking locomotive. Hopefully we'll see this again soon!
